General Manager
Naledi Mokoena
Naledi sets the tone of the house — calm, warm and impossibly organised. If something feels effortless during your stay, it usually passed through her first.
Our story
Vernora began with a simple wish — to build the kind of place we always hoped to find while travelling. Small enough to feel personal, refined enough to feel cared for.
The idea
When we found the house on Lois Avenue, it was the quiet that convinced us. Set behind a garden wall yet minutes from all of Menlyn, it felt like a secret worth keeping well.
We chose fifteen rooms over fifty. It meant turning down the numbers a bigger hotel would chase, but it let us do the one thing that matters — know our guests, and look after them properly.
Everything since has followed that decision: the materials we chose, the light we protected, the small team we trust. Vernora is what happens when hospitality is allowed to stay personal.
“We would rather be someone's favourite small hotel than everyone's convenient one.” The founders, Vernora
The people
Small enough to know every guest by name — and the people behind that promise.

Head of Kitchen
Jaco builds every breakfast around what the season and the Highveld growers offer that week. Nothing arrives on a plate by accident.
Guest Relations
Thandeka remembers the small things — your coffee, your late arrival, the table you liked. She is the reason so many guests come back.
Come and see what small, considered and genuinely warm feels like. Reserve directly and let us do the rest.
